Companies need people who are good with numbers. It's a skill not many people have! Throughout this program, you'll not only learn the accounting basics, but you'll also get exposure to taxation, auditing, and cost accounting courses. We offer two track options: public accounting or managerial accounting. More information about these tracks is available at the bottom of this page.
You may be wondering what makes our accounting program so special. Northwest accounting faculty are experts in the discipline with a combined 50+ years of teaching and industry experience. You'll also have the option to get involved with other accounting students by the Northwest Accounting Society.
Interested in taking the CPA exam? In Missouri, students can sit for the CPA exam 60 days prior to earning 120 credit hours, but must earn 150 total hours to be eligible for CPA licensure. This requirement varies by state. Alternatively, accounting students can consider the Certified Management Accountants (CMA) certification, which has a more operational and financial focus to prepare students for positions with large organizations.
